Happy Haven Forge ~ Welcome

Vince Nakovics welcomes you to Happy Haven Forge!

Blacksmithing has long been acknowledged as "King of Crafts" and continues to be so today. Many individuals think of Blacksmiths shoeing a horse, today Farriers perform that specialized area, caring and mending hooves as only they can.

Blacksmithing today is about the creation of utilitarian art works and forged art. I plan to help in preserving the ancient art of blacksmithing and the traditional methods to the best of my abilities.

When something is made by the hammer and anvil there is a special quality about it that cannot be matched through fabrication. The detailing of each part and inch are to be felt and experienced. Blacksmiths today are as much about the utilitarian as we are about the creation of art. Creations made at the anvil today, as in the past will more than likely last a life time and longer.

"I enjoyed reading this book and was happy to see that there are still blacksmiths out there continuing to keep this craft alive. The book asks several questions which gives you different points of view from a wide variety of smiths. Reading about these talented craftsmen and how they can turn metal into works of art is truly inspiring. I am pleased to see that there are people still carrying on the craft of blacksmithing."
